ANNIE LENNOX-SANDER KLEINENBERG-CAROL LEEMING

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, 1954. Making her even more special was the fact that she was born on Christmas Day. An only child, her mother, Dorothy, was a cook and her father, Tom, a boilermaker. Her parents were supportive of her interest in the Arts – especially poetry, music and drawing. Her great promise in these subjects was recognised by the Aberdeen School for Girls which she attended from the age of four. During her time in education, Annie learned to play the piano, flute, and also sang in the choir. She would go on to play in symphony orchestras and military bands and attended the dance classes of Marguerite Feltges who, interestingly, introduced pupils to a form of Greek Dance known as ‘Eurhythmics’! Although Annie was especially good at ‘being musical’, her teachers could be unsympathetic towards her as she was not as good at more academic subjects such as maths. However, they would still make the effort to praise her other more obvious artistic talents. During her teenage years, Annie gained an interest in motown music – listening to the sounds of The Supremes and Marvin Gaye. An interesting statement she made of this time was when she attended a party and was given the opportunity to DJ for the night. She decided to play A Whiter Shade Of Pale repeatedly, because it always went down a storm, and of course, Annie later covered this track on her Medusa album many years later!. The rest is history. Sander Kleinenberg began DJ-ing at a local bar

SLAYER’S TOM ARAYA TAKES A PISS ON CRONOS

Three atomkraft’s exist, one is the original, from 1979-1984. the second is the neat records atomkraft from 1985-89. and the third is tony dolan’s atomkraft from 2004-present. Atomkraft originaly formed in newcastle england in 1979 by tony dolan, mark spillet and steve white. newcastle at this point in the early eighties had two rising phenomena, one was a new and dedicated heavy rock/metal label “neat records” based in wallsend, and the other was up and coming band “venom”. Neat records and venom together seemed destined for greatness in 1980 and the young band atomkraft like all other musicians and bands in newcastle at that time also wanted a piece of the action. Atomkraft positioned themselves close to neat records and its entourage of local rockstars, with atomkraft singer tony dolan becoming buddies with venoms cronos. But after two demo recordings at neat records own recording studios and much networking atomkraft still failed to impress recording company owner and boss “dave woods”. Venom by 1984 had become a much talked about band within the metal world and it seemed that major label stardom was only just around the corner. However behind the scenes within the neat records empire.. their was a total collapse of trust taking place and a power struggle between both label boss, and venom management team of eric cook and tony bray (venom drummer).. against venom frontman “cronos”. Management and label were convinced that should a major record company come knocking at
